Autism is not as uncommon as once thought. In fact, some studies suggest that autism rates are now 1 in 68 children – perhaps because of earlier intervention and the fact that advanced diagnostic procedures are being administered at a younger age. However, even though Autism is more prevalent than once thought, Autistic children can still feel very much isolated and alone simply because they behave differently than other children.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired verbal and non-verbal communication and restricted (often repetitive) behavior that leads to a limited ability to function easily in social interactions. Although Autistic children are often very bright – if not brilliant in some cases (think of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart) – the difficulty they have interacting with other children creates a significant gap in their social development.

Capital Keys Autism Families, Inc. is a California-based nonprofit organization that has created a way to offer Autism supporters an opportunity to surprise an Autistic child with a gift from Amazon. Founded by Anthony Tinervia Jr., an Autistic adult who often felt isolated and alone growing up, we have launched a membership club whereby members can submit an Autistic child’s name to be entered in a weekly drawing for a gift to be mailed to them. Our overall goal is to bring a smile to the faces of Autistic children and to let them know that
they are not alone – that someone cares.

There are benefits to supporters as well! Those who donate $10 monthly will have a good odds of an electronic $25 Amazon gift card. Monthly donations help Autism families with fun drawings on Facebook Live, Woobox  Instant Wins and RallyUp Raffles. Check our Gallery photos.

We are reaching out to you to ask that you help us promote and expand this service with a charitable donation or sponsorship gift. We need as much help as we can to reach the scope that we envision!

With your support, our initiative will increase awareness of the impact that Autism has on a child’s confidence and self-esteem; that surprise packages will be delivered to hundreds of Autistic children; and that because of this simple gesture, Autistic children will realize that they are valued and that there are individuals who care deeply about their well-being. In appreciation for your support, we will work with you to find ways to recognize and acknowledge your gift – on our website, our social media platforms and our newsletters. Please
know that your donation is also tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulation. We know that you will probably have questions about our organization and our project. If so, please give us a call at (619) 370-7676, send us an email at or visit our website at We are confident that we will be able to generate the kind of support that we need to advance our mission and that your gift will serve as a catalyst that will help propel the momentum we hope to achieve. Thank you for considering our request! We look forward to your support and your involvement!

With deep appreciation
